March 14, 2026: Tvorive Dielne Pramienok – Slovak Easter. Welcome Spring. 🌿
Join us for a joyful afternoon of traditional crafts, food, and a short presentation exploring Slovak Easter and spring traditions. Together, we’ll make traditional Easter whips from willow branches, decorate Easter eggs, and experience customs that welcome the arrival of spring.
Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 4PM
St. John’s Episcopal Church,
74 Pleasant St. Arlington, MA 02476
This time, we’re focusing on hands-on traditions and gathering around the table. There won’t be music, singing, or dancing — instead, we’ll:
- Weave traditional Easter whips – “korbáče”
- Paint and decorate “kraslice”
- Learn about Slovak Easter and spring customs
- Taste traditional Easter foods
And yes… there will be a little surprise, too.
Whether you grew up with these traditions or are discovering them for the first time, you’re warmly invited to join us. This event is open to all ages and welcomes both Slovak and non-Slovak speakers.
The event is free of charge but donation of juice, pastries, snacks, chocolates, etc. are appreciated.
If you have traditional “kraslice” at home, feel free to bring them to display and share with others.
