Ester Wiesnerova is an internationally active composer, vocalist, and educator, originally from Slovakia. Blue Journal is her debut album as a leader. Since its release in 2022, it has received more than 30 raving reviews worldwide, including magazines such as Jazzwise, DownBeat, The Whole Note etc. Her debut was also on a ballot to be nominated for Grammy Awards in Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best Recording Package categories.

Recently, Ester was named in Forbes’ 30 under 30 list, and awarded the Gunther Schuller Medal by the New England Conservatory in Boston. Her original compositions have been performed at prestigious festivals worldwide such as Panama Jazz Festival, International Guatemala Jazz Festival, and EUROJAZZ in Mexico. As a performer, she has been featured onstage with Lionel Richie, Dave Holland, and Luciana Souza. An accomplished composer, she was invited to perform her original music at venues such as Flagey Hall in Brussels, Wuhan Concert Hall in China, The Piano Man in New Delhi, Budapest Jazz Club and Smalls Jazz Club in New York City.
Armenian born New York City based vocalist composer and pianist Astghik Martirosyan is drawing from a variety of sonic worlds — ranging from classical piano, traditional Armenian folk music, to jazz and contemporary improvisation. Exploring different chambers of her artistry Astghik collaborated and performed with musicians such as Dave Holland, Jason Palmer and Darek Oleszkiewicz. Astghik is a recent recipient of Magos Herrera Female Immigrant Musician Award (2022). Speaking of her work jurors noted “She is very thoughtful about bringing together elements of her tradition with her creative and jazz language. There’s a real voice there”.
Astghik recently finished working on her soon to be released debut album “Distance” that features Vardan Ovsepian on piano, Darek Oleszkiewicz on bass, Christian Euman on drums, Daniel Rotem on tenor sax and Maksim Velichkin on cello.
